Kaalia Gets A Flat From Maharashtra Govt

Mumbai: ‘Tera Kya Hoga Re Kaalia?’ “Huzoor, maine aapka namak khaya hai” “Tune Namak Khaya Hai, ab goli khaa” – Thus spake dacoit Gabbar and Kali in the celebrated dialogue in the timeless celluloid Sholay.

Actor Viju Khote, famous for his role of `Kaalia' in the 1975 Hindi blockbuster is among the 15 recipients of flats built by Maharashtra's housing board.

Khote, along with other Marathi film personalities, received keys to their new houses from Chief Minister Ashok Chavan in Mumbai on Friday.

Veteran actor Prabhakar Panshikar lauded Chavan for taking efforts to provide Marathi cine artists flats constructed by Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA).

Khote has acted in minor roles in over 300 films and TV serials. He is actress Shobha Khote's twin brother. PTI
